Weekend Web 1

I love slow weekends. I only get them once in a while, as all too often I'm pulling an all-nighter up against the clock for my dissertation, or getting a late train back from Sheffield. Unfortunately I live with my parents and little sister so a slow weekend isn't all bubble baths and baking cakes like I wish it could be. :) I usually spend it catching up on the internet. I've compiled a list of cute+fruitful finds on the internet that will hopefully make you smile and inspire you.

Operation Beautiful- A project to inspire self-confidence and beauty in all you see. Write 'You're beautiful' on a post-it note, and leave it where someone will see it (a bathroom mirror, a park bench, a train station). I'm going to try this out next time I get the train to uni. Hopefully it will inspire the London commuters, they look like they need cheering up!
Disclaimer: does not require appreciation for James Blunt.
Etsy: Alex Keller- a beautiful etsy shop selling affordable reconstructed vintage jewellery. I'm seriously coveting the wrap bracelet, I think I might crack and buy it.
Miss Moss- Miss Moss manages to find the most amazing illustrations and photographs, but what amazes me most is the way she matches old vintage photos with 'old master' paintings. Click here to see what I mean. Stunning.
What Elle Wears- Elle fortnightly photographs what their staff wear to work. I love this blog because most of the women have such a distinctive style, but one they've grown into and finally wear as their own. I particularly love Carrie Gorman's (the UK web editor) style.
My Milk Toof- The illustrated adventures of two baby milk teeth. Hilariously cute.

In other adventures: ^This is what my family & I looked like yesterday.^ We heard the sound of water gushing, followed the noise and found it coming from the floorboards. We called the emergency plumper and was told he'd come at 3am. In the night. So we spent the evening huddling in blankets with 1 electric heater between us and my hot water bottle bear. But it's all fixed now! I love a warm house<3

  1. Thanks for entering my giveaway, and yes primark absolutely counts as a high street shop. I love it :)

Good luck with your dissertation, I'm in my third year of uni just now so I'll have my dissertation next year, dreading it :S Thanks for sharing these links too, I love the elle one.

That also sounds like a rather dramatic night you had with your heating. I'm glad you guys got it fixed quickly though x
