F+F for Tesco

My favourite wants from Tesco. Has everyone seen Tesco's new tv adverts? I think they are not the best, especially compared with the stunning M+S and Next adverts atm (more on that later), and the clothes don't look well fitting. The clothes on their website are looking good though. Here's my wants:

A denim skirt at a bargainous £4. A denim skirt dress which would look great with brogues. This navy playsuit, which would look great with bare legs, although it's getting a bit cold for that now! I'm in love with this blue patterned dress, the pattern is perfect for petites and is just the type of thing I would love to wear. Two last dresses:

The following dress looks really cool, though I would like to see it in person. It really reminds me of the underwear-as-outerwear dress Olivia Palermo & Kim K wore and was featured in Look. I much prefer the way Olivia wore it though, with the cami underneath. I wonder if you could style this with a black lace cami underneath?

And I couldn't do a post on Tesco without mentioning this Man Men-esque (there will be a Mad Men post later) dress. Everybody seems to be raving about it, including The Times, The Observer and last week's Look!

Republic

My first post in this blog is going to be about Republic. They always have good sales, with lots of items around £10, from jeans to dresses. At the moment they have a lot of maxi dresses in the sale for £10, and it seems like everybody has an opinion on this particular dress:

It is a really beautiful dress when you try it on in person, but I can see why they have it (and others of the same style) in the sale. The bust area is a Huge problem for many women, either finding it too tight or too loose it seems. The length is also an issue.
What it seems like the problem is: is that for those who are are roughly under 5'5 it is too long and over 5'8 it is too short. However I don't really find that a massive problem for petites as dresses are very easy to take up. I would say this though: if you are petite, I think the print would be too big for you. I'm borderline petite and big print is not a flattering look. Where the dress does flatter is in the cut; the way the material hangs at the front is super flattering across the stomach, so suits a number of body shapes.
The bust area of this dress is a big issue though, and I think this is why the dress has ended up in the salse. I'm a 34b and my bust could barely squeeze into the size 10. It felt very uncomfortable. I can't comment on the size 12 unfortunately, but if you are bigger than a b cup you simply will not fit into the 10, especially if you plan on wearing a bra with it (which I would recommend!)

My other wants from Republic atm are:
This gorgeous off-white top: (in the shop it was definitely off-white, not white)

I would warn that the sleeves are a little tight for anyone with even the smallest bit of muscle in their biceps. This seems to be common for Republic, with comments on their jackets being tight on the arms.

Republic's tops are looking great too; I don't think they'll ever compete with topshop, but this one (very Taylor Momsen) is looking good, and I have my eye on this shirt below for xmas. Looks like it would be great to dress up and down.
