And the bride(smaid) wore McQueen

The Royal Wedding is coming to an end, and the London crowds are waiting for a royal kiss on the balcony. The question on everyone's lips was what the bride would be wearing, and it turned out to be a bit of an anticlimax, as Kate wore Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen as anticipated by many. However Kate wasn't the only one in McQueen- her sister, Pippa, surprised many by looking stunning and sexy in a dress by the same designer. I love the detail on the sleeves and neckline. It's so simple and perfect for a bridesmaid, and the cut shows off her perfect hourglass figure.

Kate's gown was entirely different, with modest lace sleeves emphasizing her elegant arms and hands, and a high collar with plunging neckline. The bottom of the dress had a very delicate detailing, only visible in some photos.

I'm not a royalist, and despite the hideous amounts of money spent (the taxpayer is paying for it) and the ridiculousness of having a family given so much money when so many people are being made redundant/having benefits cut right now...it was a wedding. And weddings should be beautiful, fun, happy occasions for family and friends. So is my resolve melting a little bit? Perhaps. I honestly do wish the couple well, and I hope they have a long and happy marriage. It must be really touching for them to have the support of so many people at their wedding. I can only hope for the support of my family and friends, but to have the whole nation behind you? That's gotta be something special!

How are you celebrating the royal wedding, if at all? Are any of you overseas folks celebrating? I'm having a family dinner tonight, and by coincidence wearing a patriotic dress...although how many sartorial 'coincidences' are there really?
Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!
